Antique Wood Floor, Antique Hardwood Flooring
Antique wood flooring is milled from old lumber, reclaimed from old barns, mills, granaries, and old buildings generally built in the 1800's.

An antique wood floor comes from true old growth wood that is unequalled by todays new growth lumber. Antique flooring is often crafted from old hand sawn lumber and timbers often hewn by early settlers with a broadaxe.

Most antique wood flooring will contain some characteristics naturally found in antique wood, including cracked knots, surface checking, fossil insect scarring, nail holes, weather cracks, and diverse coloring.

An antique floor is most likely a solid wood and milled to a uniform 3/4" thickness. It is usually sold in random lengths from about 2 to 10 feet, and wide random widths.

Antique wood flooring is available in tongue-and-groove or straight-edge cuts and is sold by the square foot. Most companies mill moldings, and stairs to go along with your floor.

You can install a part of our American past, true "Americana" in your home with hand crafted antique wood floors.
